Bike Tours
Prague is home to a massive network of cycling trails – in fact, there is over 185 km of them in the city. Many of them intermingle with traffic, though, which can be a problem for some. Bicycle trails are noticeable thanks to the yellow signs that mark them out, which display the route number, so you don’t get lost and the distance to the end of the trail. It is thoroughly recommended you buy a map of bike trails before heading out, which can be bought from many bookshops and bike rental outlets. Two of the better bike rental shops are listed below:
Praha Bike
This shop is open from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm from March until November, and it is the largest bike rental outfit in Prague. They offer both bikes to rent (trekking, mountain, children’s and tandem bikes) and tours of the city. They also offer large tours spanning a few days, such as tours from Prague to Vienna and from Prague to Cesky Krumlov. Address: Dlouha 24, Praha 1; website
BIKO Adventures Prague
This store offers outdoor activities for the more adventurous traveller, such as mountain biking tours of Prague and tours to Karlstejn Castle. The bikes for rent are high-level mountain bikes and road bikes, so they are really for the biking enthusiast. There are easier tours for the less athletic, though – in fact, they have a comprehensive list of tours for all to choose from, as well as bikes to rent, of course!
