Exciting Debut: Cyklohráček Kids’ Train Sets Off This Saturday

Starting from March 22, 2025, adventure seekers of all ages, whether little ones or grown-ups, and passionate sports enthusiasts can experience the excitement of a train ride designed just for kids. The Cyclohracek train will be operating on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, beginning its journey from Prague’s Main Railway Station and Smíchov, traveling around Okor and reaching Slany. The Cyklohráček is a special motor train crafted particularly for playful explorers and cyclists, but it is also suitable for regular passengers. Inside this train, there is a unique car filled with toys for the youngest passengers, including craft kits, puzzles, cardboard books, and a train track. Aspiring train drivers and dispatchers can enjoy observing the train driver up close, while mothers with young children can easily store their strollers with their little ones.
Space and Service for Cyclists
If you are a careful cyclist who cares about whether your bikes are ready for the journey, you can relax knowing that Cyklohráček caters to cyclists as well! The cycling carriage, called the Cyclocar, can comfortably accommodate up to 20 bicycles. Cyclists can perform some maintenance while enjoying the ride, as there is a compressor for inflating tires, a set for patching up, and tools available for routine bike repairs. For added safety, there are reflective safety tapes provided as a thoughtful gift to help cyclists be more visible on the road. Every traveler also receives a map of the local area with marked routes of different difficulty levels and suggestions for places to get refreshments. In addition to exploring Okor and Slany, you can also visit the Zoopark Zájezd, the charming valley between Okoří and Zákolany with a stunning railway viaduct, the Romanesque rotunda in Budeč, or the lesser-known well in Budčí.
Cyclohracek Timetable for 2025
The excursion train will enter its twelfth season in 2025. It will depart every weekend, lasting until October 28th, from Prague – Main Railway Station at exactly 8:49. It also makes stops at Smíchov, leaving at 8:57 and 13:18. The return journey from Slany will be at 11:02 and 17:00. On this scenic train ride, you’ll have a wonderful view of the most beautiful railway line in Prague, known as the Prague Semmering, as well as the lovely area surrounding the ruins of Okoř Castle and the Zákolany Valley. Here, you can visit the delightful Zájezd Zoopark or see the oldest existing structure in Bohemia, the Rotunda of St. Peter and Paul in Budč. Slaný remains a key destination, offering countless exciting activities for both children and adults. Throughout the season, cyclists will have opportunities to visit the railway museum in Zlonice. Tickets from the Prague Integrated Transport system and Czech Railways are valid on the Cyclohracek, and you can transport bikes for free within Prague, according to last year’s policies and the standard ČD tariffs.
