Hotels

Prague boasts a diverse array of accommodation choices. From chic boutique hotels and charming romantic inns situated in the historical district, to high-end international hotel chains, economical hostels, and welcoming guesthouses. The city center alone features over 300 hotels, typically maintaining a very high standard, while the entire city offers more than 900 hotels to choose from.

Prague Hotel Sax

Although the strength of the Czech crown continues to make the high life in the Czech capital less attainable than it once was, increased competition has led to many noticeable improvements in the city’s hotels. However, still, accommodation in Prague will probably be the most expensive item on your itinerary. The notoriously erratic Prague service remains a catch, of course, but many respected operations have slashed room rates while simultaneously improving decor.

Prague is busy all year round so it is best to arrange accommodation in Prague before you depart.

Desing Hotel JosefIf you are traveling around Christmas, Easter, July, or August, booking well in advance is advisable. When searching for accommodation, consider both the price and the proximity to the city center.

Sometimes, choosing accommodations a bit farther from the center can be beneficial because, compared to other world cities, Prague is relatively compact and its public transport system is highly efficient. However, do explore various hotel offerings as you might stumble upon an excellent deal right in the center. If you opt for private accommodation, it is recommended to inspect the property before making any payment.

The number of stars often does not align with international standards as owners sometimes rate their properties themselves. Nearly all hotels adjust their prices based on the season.

Naturally, prices peak during high seasons, being up to 20% higher in summer than in the low season, and up to 50% higher during the Easter and Christmas holidays.
