Popeyes Set to Spice Up the Czech Republic with Ten New Locations in 2025!

Popeyes, the popular American fast-food chain, is speeding up its growth in the Czech Republic with an announcement to open ten new restaurants throughout the country in 2025.

While reinforcing its presence in Prague, the franchise is set to branch out into new regions, with confirmed new outlets in Brno, Pardubice, and Pilsen.

“Typically, these new restaurants will be situated inside shopping centers. This year, we are also looking to introduce a drive-thru service and a highway stop,” shared Jiří Petrovič, the Chief Development Officer for Popeyes in Czechia, Poland, and Romania. “I can’t reveal too many specifics yet, as we still have some sites under construction. However, I am confident we’ll delight many fans of Louisiana chicken this year.”

Petrovič mentioned that at least six more branches should open by the end of this year or in early 2026.

Currently, in Prague, Popeyes operates three restaurants. Outside of the capital, fans can try the outlet located in Stehelčeves, right off the D7 highway, and since April 1, there is a new branch in České Budějovice.

Popeyes made its entry into the Czech market in 2023, with its first restaurant on Wenceslas Square, where it managed to serve over 100,000 meals in just its first year. The opening event attracted enthusiastic crowds, with some patrons waiting as long as 26 hours to enjoy the food. A similar wave of excitement was observed in České Budějovice this spring.

By 2033, the chain aims to operate 60 restaurants across the nation, targeting new spots in Central Bohemia and Moravia.

“Generally, it’s simpler to establish restaurants in food courts. This approach enables quicker growth and helps us expand our reach more effectively,” Petrovič explained. Food court locations, in contrast to sole standalone establishments, allow for reduced construction times and simplify logistical operations. However, since each site presents unique challenges, Popeyes has not yet provided specific opening timelines.

In Pilsen, a new branch will be constructed at the site of the former Carimex building, located near Rokycanská třída. The building, previously a point of contention, known as “Glass Hell,” has been recently demolished to pave the way for a new Úslava Shopping Center.

“For the time being, I can confirm that the new center will house a Billa supermarket along with a Popeyes—the first of its kind in the Plzeň Region,” stated Ivan Hlaváček, Executive Director of InterCora, in a statement released in March.
