Milotic Castle Awaits

miloticeMilotice Castle will open its doors on Saturday, April 5, 2025. This exciting opportunity showcases the everyday lives of the last owner, JUDr. Ladislav Seilern, and his family, who lived in the castle until 1945. Visitors can explore 17 rooms, which include the impressive Ancestral Hall and the charming chapel of St. Jan Nepomucký. The tour is crafted based on firsthand narratives from the daughter of the last Milotice Count, Maria Henrietta Seilern (1918-2008), whose maiden name was Norman-Audenhove. During April, the route is available on weekends and daily during the Easter holiday from April 17-21.

MiloticeAn exceptional highlight of Milotice Castle is the costume rental, which is strictly authentic and inspired by thorough studies of historical texts and artwork that depict the former estate owners and other nobility. The costume shop boasts 160 outfits in various sizes, ensuring that visitors can find the perfect costume for their character portrayal. Milotice caters to children as young as 1 year old. Costumes can be rented regardless of the weather; however, in the event of rain, guests must remain under the castle arcades and in the orangeries. These costumes are accurate replicas of dresses from the baroque, rococo, and romantic periods. Costume tours are scheduled at the same times as the tours of the representative halls, but it is important to register in advance online at the castle’s website.

Historical attire that were previously rented from theaters. However, the organizers aimed for perfect and precise garments, resembling the historical originals, leading them to craft the costumes in the South Moravian town of Milotice.
