Experience the Moravian-Silesian Region: A Premier Tourist Destination Unveiled at a Major International Event!

Travel Trade Day, also known as TTD, is one of the largest domestic events dedicated to promoting inbound travel. Organized by the Czech Tourist Authority – CzechTourism, TTD works in collaboration with various partners, including representatives from regions, cities, and destination management organizations. The goal is to showcase the rich tourist offerings of Czechia and support the growth of inbound tourism.
TTD is a two-day event featuring pre-arranged meetings and working sessions, where representatives from foreign travel agencies connect with Czech tourism entrepreneurs. Participants will also enjoy sightseeing tours of the host region.
”Through the largest domestic workshop aimed at promoting arrivals to Czechia, we demonstrate to professionals worldwide that visiting our country is truly worth their clients’ time. This year’s event in Ostrava will highlight a region that is increasingly popular among tourists. This is no surprise, as it merges stunning nature, such as the Beskydy and Jeseníky, with remarkable technical monuments that are significant tourism drivers in North Moravia and the Czech Republic overall,” explains František Reismüller, Director of the Czech Tourist Authority – CzechTourism. ”I believe this year’s TTD will significantly benefit areas affected by the September flood. Interested parties can find inspiration for their stays on our portal, Kudy z nudy. For foreign visitors, we regularly share attractions and tips for places to explore in our country on our website, VisitCzechia, and gourmets will find something to satisfy their cravings through our special project, CzechSpecials.”
TTD 2025 is organized by the Czech Tourist Authority – CzechTourism in collaboration with the Moravian-Silesian Region, the City of Ostrava, and the destination management of Moravian-Silesian Tourism.
”We are honored to host this international event in our region, which will positively influence tourism development here. We will showcase that our region is perfect for active tourism, culinary experiences, exploring industrial monuments, enjoying nature, and serving as a prestigious golf destination. Our area is capable of hosting large social, cultural, congress, and sporting events while also being an excellent spot for family-friendly excursions and active relaxation,” says Šárka Šimoňáková, the first deputy governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region.
The organizers carefully choose the destinations for the Travel Trade Day in Czechia to provide participants with a rounded experience of the country. Previous TTD events have been held in Brno, Karlovy Vary, České Budějovice, Liberec, Plzeň, Olomouc, and Hradec Králové.
”This event will attract over 100 representatives from travel agencies and media from around the globe, as well as dozens of other industry professionals from within the country. This will have a beneficial impact on tourism and the local economy. It is an essential opportunity for us to showcase our attractions and services and to integrate them into travel agency packages,” emphasizes Ostrava Mayor Jan Dohnal.
The event will also feature sightseeing trips for representatives of foreign travel agencies, tour operators, and other stakeholders around the Moravian-Silesian Region.
”In preparation for TTD, we will introduce our region to numerous international guests through sightseeing tours across our tourist areas – from Beskydy to Jeseníky. Representatives from foreign travel agencies can choose from several themed tours, including gastrotourism and active tourism. We will present attractions such as Technotrail, connecting industrial gems like the Lower Vítkovice area, or Pojez, which links the best restaurants, bars, cafes, local farms, and businesses in the region, demonstrating the culinary delights our area offers,” explains Petr Koudela, director of the regional tourism headquarters of Moravian-Silesian Tourism, noting that Ostrava’s destination management also plays a role in the participants’ program.
”Aside from the sightseeing tour of the Moravian-Silesian Region, including Ostrava, we are organizing two social evenings for guests to experience local culture. The event will culminate in a business meeting, allowing representatives of foreign travel agencies and tour operators to establish partnerships with Czech and local companies,” concludes Jiří Šimon, Director of Information Centres and Destination Management in Ostrava.
