Černokostelec brewery celebrates its 24th anniversary and invites you to a big celebration!

The brewery in Kostelec nad Černými Lesy will host the Saturday 15 March held Open day as part of the 24th anniversary of the local brewery. The organizers have prepared tours and anniversary gastronomic specialties for visitors.
Come and commemorate an important milestone in the history of Czech brewing. At 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. tours of the reconstructed technological premises, you can expect demonstrations of historical technologies that the brewery is gradually putting into operation. You will see, among other things steam engine, cooling and air compressors, giant stalls, ice elevator or malting machines such as a scraper. There will also be oak lager barrels, pumping of wort on cooling racks, a shower apparatus in operation, a continuous keg of the 1876 Barley type and many other brewery gadgets. Tours cost 220 CZK per person.
Beer connoisseurs can taste several types of local beer – 10% Dešt’offka light draught beer, 11% Bílá Svina light full wheat top-fermented beer, 12% Vyppaná vydra light lager, 13% March annual beer (light strong bottom-fermented beer), 13% Černá Svina dark strong bottom-fermented beer and 15% Medokostelecká annual beer (light strong bottom-fermented beer flavoured unfiltered, unpasteurised). Tasting will attract brewery specialties, such as beef kielbasa on Black Swine, pork ribs on Medokostelecký special, turkey fried in beer batter from Stuffed Otter or Tvargle in batter from Dešt’ofa… and many more. You can look forward not only to plenty of beer and food, but also to live music.
Černokostelec brewery is a cultural monument
On 21 February 2018, the Ministry of Culture declared the entire area of the Černokostelec Brewery as a cultural monument including technological equipment. The registered equipment includes a brewhouse, an air compressor, Barley system, an aerial vertical forest, barley cleaning station, de-barking apparatus, air pump, cyclone, malt bins and elevator, a scale and a scraper, cold water tanks, hot water and crushed malt, brýd vapour recuperator, double-batch brewhouse, ammonia refrigeration compressors, cooling racks, shower apparatus, sleeping vats and wooden lager barrels.
The owners’ years-long efforts to sensitively restore the classical grounds of the upper-class brewery rebuilt in the spirit of the Industrial Revolution at the end of the 19th century and equipped with modern technology in the 1930s, he achieved satisfaction. The gradual structural restoration and reconstruction of the historic technology is still underway. This includes the opening of new exhibitions of the historic site to the public.
