Discover 1,200 Years of Prague’s Fascinating History!

A brand-new interactive experience is ready to take visitors on an exciting journey through 1,200 years of Prague’s rich history.
The Back in Time museum, which will open at the Máj shopping center, offers an engaging 50-minute exploration of significant historical events using cutting-edge technology and immersive physical installations.
A Journey Through Time
Back in Time showcases important events, myths, and key figures from the history of Prague that have also been instrumental in shaping the national identity of the Czech Republic.
Guests are led by two imaginative siblings, B (short for “Back,” portrayed by actor Jakub Jenčík) and T (“Time,” played by actress Barbora Váchová).
This duo, who happen to be the children of a professor that invents a time machine, accidentally turn it on, whisking themselves and their visitors back to the 9th century, where they witness the legend of Libuše and the founding of Prague.
The adventure continues as they explore the court of Charles IV, brought vividly to life through sophisticated projection technology and dialogues that are historically accurate.
Visitors will uncover the mysteries behind the making of the Astronomical Clock, meet the legendary Golem, delve into wartime Prague, and observe critical moments during the fights for Czech Radio in 1945 and 1968.
The journey comes to a grand finale in the Hall of Fame, featuring animated effects and mirrored displays that pay tribute to distinguished Czech personalities including T. G. Masaryk, Václav Havel, Antonín Dvořák, Emil Zátopek, and Karel Gott.
Cutting-Edge Technology for an Unforgettable Experience
This audiovisual presentation is crafted to engage all of the senses. The museum incorporates holographic projections, a 10-channel sound system, and even scent simulations that are tied to specific historical eras.
A 5D cinema with a 180-degree projection and motion seats takes the realism to another level, allowing history to come alive in an unforgettable manner.
