Czechia boasts a rich and diverse food scene that skillfully blends traditional Czech flavors with influences from neighboring countries and global culinary trends. The country’s cuisine is well-known for its hearty dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, including wild game, fresh fish from rivers and lakes, as well as seasonal products like vegetables and berries. These are perfectly complemented by famed Czech beers and exquisite wines from innovative vintners. More and more chefs are merging classical cooking techniques with modern methods, ensuring the Czech culinary landscape remains vibrant and continuously evolving.

Michelin Stars in Prague

In 2024, two restaurants in the Czech Republic earned a Michelin star, both located in Prague. These esteemed restaurants successfully maintained their Michelin status from 2021 as featured in the The MICHELIN Guide Prague: La Degustation Bohême Bourgeoise, led by chef Oldřich Sahajdák on Haštalská Street, and Field, situated on U Milosrdných Street, led by chef Radek Kašpárek, who is also the head judge of MasterChef Czech Republic.

The MICHELIN Inspectors award the prestigious MICHELIN Starsone, two, or three – to the finest dining establishments. The Guide also includes the Bib Gourmand selection, which recognizes restaurants providing great quality food at reasonable prices. The MICHELIN Green Star is awarded to establishments that lead in sustainable gastronomy. Additionally, the Inspectors highlight recommended restaurants and special professional awards.

Moreover, five restaurants have received the Michelin Bib Gourmand honor: Dejvická 34, Divinis, Na Kopci, and The Eatery, with the fifth being Eska in Karlín, which has since split into two venues: the intimate Eska and the newly opened Štangl restaurant.
